Professional Experience // Work-Life-Learning-Balance
As an avid lifelong learner, autodidact, and expert problem solver, I’ve always thrived on variety in my professional life. On my journey so far, I have completed many different jobs and projects in many diverse fields:
From the radio cabin to the assembly line; from the construction site to the PR office; from the barroom to the newsroom; from professional ghostwriting to refurbishing furniture; from organizing international ICT events to bringing punk gigs to the local community … my talents and interests are versatile, and I am never afraid to take a hands-on approach to whatever project comes my way.
In my professional life, I look back on almost two decades as a journalist writing for various newspapers and international news outlets. As a tech-savvy digital native, I’ve also been involved in countless online projects just about as long. In 2014, I officially founded my company offering my services as an SEO consultant and copywriter.
With respect to education, I hold a post-graduate degree in English Linguistics and a certification in Media Studies. However, I’m firmly convinced that there is no substitute for real-world learning – and one should miss an opportunity to try out new things, engage in new topics, and acquire new skills!
A Unique Skillset // Don’t Be an Ant!
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal […]. Specialization is for insects.”
From: Robert A. Heinlein – Time Enough for Love
Just like Heinlein, I believe that humans should acquire a versatile skillset, and that overspecialization better be left to ants! 🐜

‘Areas of Expertise’ // Stuff That’s Interesting (to me)
Once I discover a topic that is new and interesting to me, it quickly becomes an obsession which I dive into deeply. Although (outside of SEO) I don’t claim any particular area of expertise for myself, there are some reoccurring topics that captured my attention again and again during my life and career. I might not consider myself an expert, but I always cherish a conversation about them. For your convenience, here’s an incomplete list (again, in no particular order) 😉

As a professional (ghost-)writer, I have written about almost everything from transcendentalist poetry to mechatronic systems engineering, and I always challenge myself to uncover the most interesting aspects of a topic.
